Prayer is the vital impetus for all we do and we try to make it central to the life of the Fellowship. From time to time we call evenings, nights or days of prayer and prayer is a key part in the programme of each home group. A short weekly prayer meeting precedes our evening service. We have a prayer directory encouraging each person to pray for other people in the fellowship each day. Any member of the church leadership should be able to give you a copy and arrange to include you in future editions.
Time of Prayer 10am - 10.25am Everyone is welcome to come and pray for the Sunday Morning Service and Activities. Prayer is practical and down to earth. It leads into life, not away from it.
Mark:1-35 The Serenity Prayer God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as the pathway to peace, taking , as he did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it, trusting that he will make all things right if I surrender to his will- that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with him forever. Our hearts are filled with a restless longing that nothing on earth can ever fully satisfy. Only God can give us that deep inner peace for which we yearn. In order to receive this gift, we need to enter into a trusting relationship with our creator. When we take this step, the gift of peace is planted like a seed within us. It is our responsibility that this seed grows and bears fruit. How we go about doing this is what the serenity prayer is all about.
John 14:27, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
