Baptism is an important step for people in their Christian lives, illustrating a believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. It’s a public declaration of their faith, discipleship and commitment to Jesus. It is also a time of great celebration for the church.
Jesus Himself was baptised, and the Bible tells us in Matthew 3:16-17 NIV:
16 As soon as Jesus was baptised, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”
Our next SCF Baptism is on Sunday 1st July. If you have not been baptised but would like to be, please speak to Pastor Ross, who will explain what baptism means and assist you in taking this important step.
